Peter Tait

 Peter Tait was born in Croydon, Surrey in 1950. He started his career  presenting on UBN (for the workers of United Biscuits), then in 1977 moved to Radio Trent in Nottingham. In 1983, Peter was offered the Radio Caroline Breakfast Show, but he left after 3 months due to the station having lack of revenue. 

In 1984, he joined Radio Aire to present the Early Morning Show and by 1986, he was presenting Drivetime. By 1988 he had taken over the Breakfast Show,  where he remained until the station frequency split in 1990.

He was also the host of many successful Solid Gold Nights which were hosted at venues across West Yorkshire. These included acts such as Mud, The Three Degrees, Odyssey and Bobby Vee

When Magic 828 launched in 1990, he initially presented the Afternoon Show, then in 1992 he moved to the Breakfast Show where he remained for 10 years.

In February 2002, Peter had to take leave from his Breakfast Show due to ill health. Carl Kingston covered the show while Peter was recovering, however he sadly passed away on 20 September 2002.
