Andy Siddell

Andy Siddell was born in Nottingham in 1959. After working at Radio Nova in the summer of 1988, he joined Radio Aire later in the year. He started off presenting overnights and covering presenters who were off, but was soon given Weekend Afternoons. On Saturdays, he presented The Saturday Gang with Richard Swales & Louise Weekes and he also hosted The Hitline on a Sunday.

When the station split frequencies in 1990, he covered for Aire FM and Magic 828 presenters who were on holiday, but was soon given the weekday Magic 828 Evening Show following the closure of the Super Station.

In 1992, he moved to Afternoons and later to Mid-Mornings. Andy was Head of Music for the station and was responsible for content on the Magic 828 website.

In 2003, Magic 828, together with other stations in the Magic Network were taking some of their programmes from Magic 1152 in Newcastle. Mid-Mornings also began to be networked, so Andy moved back to the Afternoon Show.

By 2006, the decision was made to network the Afternoon Show from Newcastle as well. Andy moved there to present his show across the Magic Network and was also Head of Music for the station.

As well as being heard on the radio, Andy was also a continuity announcer for Yorkshire Television and Granada. He was regularly heard introducing programmes such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Andy moved to Canada in 2009 and presented on 95.5 Hits FM in Ontario. He went on to present on Solid Gold Gem AM and runs his own media company.
