Radio Aire FM 1992 - 1995

In 1992 the station name was changed to Radio Aire FM, due to listeners still referring to the station as Radio Aire.

A new logo was introduced and more 80's music was included in the playlist. New jingles were produced by Alfasound/JAM and JJ McKay provided the voice-overs.

Richard James was back on Breakfast, whilst more new presenters joined the station. Tony Collins moved over from Magic 828 (originally known as Tony Fogarty on Magic 828), although he had continuously worked at Radio Aire long before that as a technical operator and producer for James Whale (known as 'The Milky Bar Kid').

The schedule from 1992 was....

06:00 Richard James

10:00 Daragh Corcoran

13:00 Tony Collins

16:00 Stuart Ellis

19:00 Warren Moore

22:00 Paul Conroy

01:00 Julian Wharam

Weekend and extra presenters included Carl Kingston, Simon Hirst (now Stephanie Hirst), Mike Toolan, Nick Babb, Neil Rudd & Sarah Griffiths. David 'Kid' Jensen presented The Network Chart Show until 1993, when Neil Fox took over.

Stephanie Hirst later moved to Minster FM, The Pulse, Hallam FM, Viking FM, Galaxy Yorkshire (now Capital) and Radio Leeds. She also presented nationally on Hit40UK with Katy Hill. She is currently on the Hits Radio Network (including Pulse 1), presenting her 'Belters' show on Saturday and Sunday evenings. She also occasionally covers Steve Priestley's show on Greatest Hits Radio (Yorkshire) and has worked on television, including the Lorraine programme and Jeremy Vine.

Mike Toolan later moved to Rock FM, then Capital FM and Key 103 (now Hits Radio). As Hits Radio is networked across numerous stations in the UK, he was back on Radio Aire prior to the station closure and continued to be heard in Yorkshire on Pulse 1, Hallam FM and Viking FM.
