Gillies are the offspring of a Merfolk and Human, most often the result of a sailor and mermaid. Gillies look like tall slightly green-blue humans with elongated legs. Their skin is slightly scale-like and they have gill slits on their sides at the rib cage. Their legs are more scaly than their torsos and their feet are long and end in webbed toes. The short lifespan and rough, isolated life most Gillies live often leave them with a chip on their shoulders.
