Shrine of Gemini

The Shrine of Gemini is located on the east wall of the temple colonnade, near the entry to the Chapel of Fire. This shrine is situated near the point where the temple colonnade, which is L-shaped, turns to run along the eastern wall. The entrance to the Main Sanctuary of the Temple of Isis is situated in this part of the colonnade, so this area is sometimes referred to as "The Nave." Olivia writes that the zodiac shrines are corresponded to rites found in the FOI liturgy book "Sophia, Cosmic Consciousness of the Goddess." The ritual "Mystical Awakening of Gemini, Artemis and Apollo" from "Sophia" is associated with this shrine. Olivia writes that this altar is dedicated to divine twins, including Artemis and Apollo, Shu and Tefnut and Isis and Osiris.
