TIRES
I’m a fan of Michelin tires – I love the Krylion Carbon as well as the Pro 3 Race. Other popular tires are the Continental Grand Prix 4000, Vittoria Open Corsa, and Hutchinson Fusion. These top-of-the-line tires will cost about $35-65 each.
WHEELS
Some of the nicer wheelsets include Mavic Ksyrium SL, Williams s19, Williams s30, Neuvation R28, Reynolds Solitude, Shimano Dura-Ace, and Zipp 404. The Williams and Neuvation wheels are great values at $300-500, with other high-end wheels costing $800 or more.

REI Tires

Continental Contact 700 Tire 32 & 37, $40.
Please note: although the tire sidewall may state "28 x 1 1/4 x 1 3/4" on it, please be assured that the tire will fit 700c rims. Reviewer: I purchased the 700x32 and on the caliper they came out to 27.6mm. These were about the same width of the 28mm Panaracer Ribmo's I was replacing. So I returned them to go up to the next size. The 700x37 ended up around 34mm. I didn't expect them to be spot on (as most tires aren't), but I didn't think they would be that far off.

They are Continental Top Contact, which is a high-end tire handmade in Germany. It is a highly regarded commuting and touring tire.
The size is 700 X 32C. The diameter of the tire is 700, which is the same as what you have on your road bike. The width is 32mm, which is considered to be a good size for commuting, touring, and riding rough roads. Your bike currently has 26mm, and it appeared to have enough clearance for a 32mm tire.
They retail for about $50 per tire. I bought them in February from a friend who works in a bike shop for $60 (i.e., $30 per tire). We put them on my steel road bike in an attempt to make it more capable of gravel road riding. The experiment was not entirely successful, primarily because the bike didn't have much clearance for wider tires. I just sold the bike, and now don't need these tires.
The tires probably have less than 50 miles on them. I think they were virtually new when I bought them, and I only rode them about 3 or 4 times. They show no wear at all.
I'd like to sell them for $50 (i.e., $25 per tire).
