"You can't get anything clean without getting something else dirty."
— Cecil Baxter
The Depot is a convenient building in which containers of all types may be placed, freeing up valuable space in the zoo and making it easy to monitor and empty full containers.
Prior to the depot it could be quite a hassle to stay on top of garbage containers in a large zoo if they were scattered around, or unsightly if all clustered in one area.
Depot buildings come in two sizes:
Small Depot
Both Depots become available at level 28 and can be purchased by opening the main Shop window, selecting the Buildings and Special Places tab, and then clicking the Miscellaneous sub-tab, the same place where containers and restrooms are purchased.
Visitors will enter Depots and mill about on pathways, for rather mystifying reasons. Interior paths are pre-placed and cannot be modified.
As long as a Depot is within one field of an exterior path the Garbage Collector, if employed, will stop at the building to empty all the filled containers inside. The Garbage Collector does not actually enter the building like visitors do.
Note that only containers may be placed in the depot; you cannot place plants, decorations, animals, shops or anything else in the building.
Strategy Tip: If you have a depot, all the trash containers in it will probably be ready to empty at the same time. Look for the little trash container mini-task on the bottom right of your screen; if it's there, your depot might be ready for a visit.
If you don't empty your trash, your terrible visitors will start dropping trash all over your paths and your visitors will plummet.
The Depot was introduced to My Free Zoo on May 27, 2014. There are no trading card pieces available for this building. There are currently no wallpapers available for the Depot.
