Lions in Literature

Famous made-up lions include Aslan, the Jesus metaphor from CS Lewis's The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (1950); the Cowardly Lion from Frank L. Baum's Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900); and the lead characters in The Lion King (not a book, but I figured people would probably want it mentioned).
