Oct 26 & 27th: Witnesses need to write a witness statement. Witness statements due on Monday. Bring 4 copies

I. Complete Character Statement -Students need to review the information about their character and determine how that person relates to your side’s case. Complete a 1-2 page summary of your character and issues relating to this case, AND HOW YOUR CHARACTER RELATES TO THE 4 CHARGES. List all four charges and address the charges as they pertain to you as an expert or material witness.

Judges review the case, the textbook information on the Industrial Revolution, and the Declaration of Rights of Man (French Revolution). Attorneys meet together and determine a "story" for your version of the case. You must include where you stand on the 4 charges, which witnessess will provide supporting evidence, and explain why your perspective of the case is right. Use this plan for your opening, closing, strategy, and cross-exam papers.

On Oct 28th (no School) Read the TRIAL PACKET. Highlight or underline anything you need to know or do for the trial. Begin work on your role for the trial. Plan what your character would say in a witness statement and how the 4 charges pertain to you.

Oct 31- Nov. 4th: The trial preparation will continue to take place this week, your homework will be to work on whatever you need to do for the trial.

Oct 31: link to the roles for the trial Defense & Prosecution research your role. Attorneys and judges, read the trial packet and memorize objections. Prepare for you role in the trial, remember that physical evidence is due next class session. Judges: review the objections. Attorneys: work with your witnesses on their statements; come up with a list of questions for you witnesses and cross-examinees, develop an approach to the charges. Defense & Prosecution lists. We will work on this in the computer lab. Witness statements due today. Bring 4 copies; you can re-write your witness statement if needed: be sure that you directly address all four of the charges! Final Witness statements due next class period (you can use the computer lab if needed) Again, bring 4 copies. ( Prepare for you role in the trial Defense & Prosecution lists.)

Nov 1 : Judges test is today; set up appointments for physical evidence. Judges: study objections & witness statements. Witnesses, your final copy of the witness statement is due today. You will need 4 copies: one for judge, defense attorney, prosecution, and one for me. If all goes as planned, the trial should start Friday; Prosecution Witnesses should be ready to go. You are expected to come dressed in character! You should come with your costume/props every day of the trial (in case you are called early). Attorneys present physical evidence to judges today. Work with your witnesses and on your papers.

November 3rd Early Release

Nov 2 & 3: Team Strategy meeting, Triads meetings today. attorney opening, closing, and strategy outlines due today. Attorneys: Have the questions you will ask witnesses- to be checked in class, know the order to call your witnesses, this information should be in your case strategy outline which is due today for attorneys (#2, #3) Defense Witnesses should be ready to go. You are expected to come dressed in character! = The following are due upon conclusion of the trial:

Nov 4th begin trial: Be prepared for your role in the trial. Opening statements, begin Prosecution

11/7: Resume trial, be prepared with all your materials. Prosecution

11/8: Continue trial complete prosecution, begin defense

11/9 & 11/10 Witness Portfolios: bring all of your notes, in-class work, including overview and cross interview. Attorneys: Any ONE of the following: 1. opening statement, 2. strategy or cross-examination strategy (describing how you structured the case around the four charges) or 3. closing statement. ) Prosecution and Defense attorneys opening statements due today. Judges: rulings.
