March 5&9: We began unit by reading, "Bare Branches" (attached) , watching the film, "It's a Girl". Read, annotate, and write 3 discussion topics/ questions for class Seminar discussion. Turn in if you missed.

March : Read in packet “History: Fact or Fiction” page 20-23. Be prepared to identify and discuss the following for our lesson. We will do an in-class assignment the “History Fact or Fiction” reading tomorrow. List the words or terms that illustrate the bias of each section.

1. How are the writers using language to position the readers? Use evidence; quote directly from the text to support your answer.

2. Examine the words the authors have chosen to influence their readers. What do you notice?

If you were absent today, we did an in-class assignment on last night’s “History Fact or Fiction” reading, you need to fill it out and complete it for credit. (attached)

March : Homework Read Text book pgs 701-705. take Cornell notes and Answer, “How was British colonization described in our text? In what ways was it positive or negative? ” Use quotes from the reading to support your answer

March : Read textbook 785-787, Using Cornell Notes, record Ideals and Methods of Gandhi for India's independence. In class we Read Satyagraha: Non-Violence & Gandhi’s Speech, from the reading packet 27-28

March : Text book pages 884-888, Cornell notes, "What happened to India at independence?"

March : In Class: Read Swadeshi handout (found in the packet pages 34-37) using Cornell notes , record Ideals and Methods of Gandhi for India's economics and development.

March 12&13: Work on in-class assessment, DBQ "What Made Non-violence Work" readings, questions and write your in-class essay response with evidence.
