OBJECTIVES: Given an article on Social Inequality and discussion, students will draw conclusions on social inequality and speculate as to whether the communist revolution has met its goals for people in China.

Students will predict what issues need to be addressed.

· Read article “NO HELP for Quing Ming” Packet 33-38

o Look for quotes that show if China is better off today because of Communism? Does communism still serve the needs to the Chinese people?

· Discuss:

o How should China address these problems?

· Copy quotes/ evidence that show meeting or not meeting the goals of communist revolution.

· Answer questions on handout, “Social Inequality”
