Post date: Feb 24, 2012 10:20:03 PM
TWO PAINTINGS ARE CURRENTLY DUE. Both are MONOCHROMATIC in the style of Harlem Renaissance painter AARON DOUGLAS.
If you are working from home, use crayons, colored pencil, collage, marker - whatever you have laying around!
1. OVERLAPPING LETTERS PAINTING
-Choose from the following: the letters of your name, initials, a word that is significant to you, etc.
-On paper, sketch the letters using a design. Overlap the letters so that the spaces in them connect together.
-Color in the spaces in and around your letters, using ONLY ONE COLOR and adding BLACK and WHITE in various shades (example: green, light greens, dark greens, black, white)
2. ASPECTS OF MY LIFE
-Lightly draw a scene which represents something important or significant to you in your life right now. Use many overlapping shapes, geometrics, and simple figures.
-Color in the shapes using ONLY ONE COLOR and adding BLACK AND WHITE in various shades (example: green, light greens, dark greens, black, white).
