Current position

I started my PhD under the supervision of Jean Daunizeau in november 2022, thanks to a grant from Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale.

Project

What is fatigue? Is there a process by which cognitive effort diminishes the capacity to exert cognitive effort in the near future? This question has been debated in the field, and crucially, diverging theories struggle to formulate specific predictions of complex human behaviors. I use computational modelling to formalize this hypothesis and derivate predictions, in order to understand the mechanisms behind the impact of fatigue on behavior.

In a second aspect of my work, I will try to assess fatigue in the pathological context of burnout syndrom. Is it only an extreme form of fatigue, that impacts the efficacy of subjects, or is it coupled to metacognitive alterations? Are there behavioral alterations that precede burnout and might shed a light on its dynamics?

Background

After a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Cognitive Sciences with a major in computational modelling in the École Normale Supérieure in Paris in 2015, I chose to pursue medical studies in Paris Descartes University. I am now a psychiatry resident, and came back to the lab for a PhD with a strong focus on computational modelling.
