I've always used excel, ever since I learned how to use a computer. I've used it to make simple things like tables and charts. But for some reason when I thought about how later in life I'd be a teacher, whenever I thought about my gradebook, a spiral-bound notebook came to mind. I never thought about making a gradebook digital. Having a gradebook in an excel spreadsheet has many advantages, one of course being that it's is available at the drop of a hat and is extremely easy to edit. Like I'm sure many people do, I type faster than I write so entering data into a spreadsheet would be much quicker for me than to write it. This form that I've made for our class will be so simple to use in a classroom. It isn't that hard to create and is very beneficial.
One of the parts of this project that proved to be really helpful is to make charts of student grades. Makin
g those charts you could really see how a student was doing, if he was improving, had a bad day, or needed some extra help. As a teacher it will be so great to be able to look at those charts and use them to help my students. It could also help me if all my students did poorly on a specific test or homework and if I need to revisit these subjects for the entire class.
I didn't have too much trouble with this project because of the experience I'd had with the program. I think the most difficult part was learning to make the text face a different way. This project was probably my favorite because I see myself getting the most use out of this technique when I become a teacher.
