Skills Workshops
I design and deliver workshops, mostly for STEM researchers, students, teachers and research professionals, which aim to develop presentation and communication skills. These have been popular and succesful all over the UK and, recently, in France and Italy.
The sessions explore productive interactions between science and the community and explore ways in which STEM professionals can engage with the broadcast and print media
I am currently developing workshops on the history and importance of public engagement for scientists and researchers. These are destined for undergraduate courses but are suitable for a wide range of other audiences
I teach programming at all levels - including Scratch for primary school students and teachers, and Python and MATLAB for scientific researchers
I provide CPD sessions for teachers, mostly KS1 and 2 teachers, who want to better understand how science, and in particular the new computer science components, can be delivered in a cross curricular way
