Molière was the stage name of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin (baptised January 15, 1622 – February 17, 1673) the famous French comic playwright and actor, the author of “Le Misanthrope” (“The Misanthrope”), “L'École des Femmes” (“The School for Wives”), “L'Avare” (“The Miser”), “Le Malade Imaginaire” (“The Imaginary Invalid”), and “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme” (“The Bourgeois Gentleman”) (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moli%C3%A8re ).
