Arthur Miller (born 17 October 1915, New York City, died 10 February 2005, Roxbury, Connecticut) was an American playwright, Pullitzer Prize-winner and author of “All My Sons”, “Death of a Salesman”, and most famously for “The Crucible” that was about the persecution of witches in Salem but inspired by the persecution of US socialists by the House Un-American Activities Committee under Senator Joseph McCarthy.
