Notes:

This species has become a fairly scarce bird in Maine (as of 2020), with only a handful of records in recent decades (since 2000). An apparent family group visited Sebago Lake in consecutive years during the 1990s. The 2014 Stockton Springs record was the first in 5 years, two having occurred in the fall of 2009. Prior to that was one at Scarborough Marsh in 2004. Hence, the species was added to the review list after 2014. Reports from late spring into early summer in 1984 may or may not pertain to this species or natural vagrants.
