Yesterday we took two measurements of dispersion in the transfer line:
1. for the 26/3/14 settings which we have been using for other dispersion measurements and
2. for a version which SAD calculation tells us should be 'ideal' and give matched dispersion in the ring.
The transmission for the second case was quite low so we had to switch on a horizontal steerer at the end of the line in order to get sufficient transmission into the ring. This steerer was also scaled with equivalent momentum so it can be included in the model afterwards.
Data is being analysed (by Suzie), and so far the first set looks good (plot of gaussian fits attached), the dispersion result will be available after conversion of current -> field.
Today is our last day of data taking during Suzie's visit. We will take measurements of tune vs energy using the horizontal perturbator. The 2D spectrum analyser was quite useful in setting this up and finding sidebands, so we expect to use this during the measurement and to save data from this, which should make analysis much easier than before. If possible we will also save the bunch monitor traces as before in case we want to compare analysis methods.
Update (1pm tuesday): I've also added excitation curve data from Ishi-san sent by email in order to help with the transfer line equivalent momentum dispersion measurement.
