Last night we had a final dinner to say farewell to our friends from KURRI. We used a great recipe for pasta from Ishi-san and Suzie made up some nice chilli and prawn sauce as well. Everyone had a good time!
We started this morning by thinking about what we are going to do today. First we would like to make the closed orbit matching at 700 A on the probe, followed by some attempt to validate the foil model.
We had a discussion with Shinji last night and during the morning meeting about the foil model validation. In the end we decided attempt to measure the energy loss by comparing the RF phase with the beam time of flight as a function of RF voltage. If the RF voltage is lower, the required synchronous phase to keep the beam in the ring changes. This dependence gives us a measure of the foil thickness.
I showed some data analysis, validating the voltage cut-off used for the time-to-loss measurement of Suzie and David for k-value calculation, and also looking at the tune measurement for the data taken on Wednesday.
