With that being said, it has been crunch time around our house. This past week, Jim and Dad painted our bedroom before we had new carpet installed. Jim was really grateful to have Dad's help with the painting since, as he says, he hates to paint. Dad helped the room get done in just a couple hours. Thank you, Dad! The fresh paint and the new carpet really looks great. Jim continued to be a master chef by making all freshly chopped homemade minestrone soup for now and for freezing as well as homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs.
Chloe and Zoe have really been enjoying keeping me company during my bed rest time. They both lay with me during the night when I can't sleep (I was covered up with the blanket in the picture below and they both were laying on my legs) or stay close to me during the day; even as I write this they are both within arm's reach. It's very sweet. I think they can sense that I'm not feeling my usual self. Animals are intuitive like that.
The bed rest continues to be mostly boring, but (I don't always want to accept it); very needed. Maybe it's because of my surgeries, but this pregnancy does seem a bit difficult on my body compared to watching 40 year old Rachel Zoe on her reality TV show who, at 8 months pregnant, said to her Doula, "I think I've had one of those contractions once." I have what seems to be a hundred a day so it just goes to show you just how different pregnancy is for every woman. As long as Briella is healthy, I'm okay with it. I tend to find myself concerned for her during them.
Anyway, Jim took me out of the house for an hour to meet up with Dad & Mom for the Giant Festival in Seville this week, but my body couldn't take much more than that hour. I hate admitting just how sore, tired, and the frequency of contractions I get from a little bit of time of walking and even sitting around without my legs up. We also got to celebrate with Dad & Mom for their 31st wedding anniversary this past week. There are so many wonderful milestones happening all around us in our family and we are very grateful and excited for them all. Just a few more weeks, Briella, and your Daddy and I get to meet you, hold you, and love you more and more...!
I definitely look and feel that Briella and I have grown in size this past week. My mom is still a patient of the doctor who did my first surgery when I was 18 and the doctor predicted that Briella was breech, and she absolutely is breech. She also told my mom that she is going to stay breech because of my surgery. I have contractions all of the time still and every time I have one; her head protrudes out the middle of my stomach! When Jim or I put our hands on it, we can feel the shape of her head perfectly in our palms. It's incredible to think that, as I write this, I am 35 weeks along and she is going to be born in 18 days.
