This has been a lazy week for me and a busy one for Jim! My cousin Maggie came in for a visit so Jim got to meet cousin Noah. Noah is very sweet and adorable. I'm continuing my "modified bed rest with work restriction" and Jim completed Briella's nursery makeover. Jim and I have been praying and feeling that it wasn't time for us to build a house right now so this week we signed the release papers to get back our down payment on the lot that we purchased. So instead, we decided we will do a few little things in our current house to make it ready for Briella and more enjoyable for us for a few more years to come. Jim tore out the carpet in her room, painted, and installed hardwood floors all by himself last weekend. He called my Mom during the nursery makeover to have her 'babysit' me, ha-ha. My mom and I had a nice day of browsing for nursery rugs (see the rug on the floor: she and Dad bought that for us!) and Dad made us some delicious food that day as well. Jim put a lot of love into Briella's room and I know he feels that this is a gift he can give to her and I'm very proud of him for his hard work. It's a really elegant feeling room; very feminine and cozy feeling.
Briella seems to be doing very well. I had a follow up appointment for last week's pre-term labor issues and we got to see Briella on the ultrasound. We've come to find out that ultrasounds don't happen often in pregnancy because insurance doesn't like to cover them so it was a unexpected surprise. Briella was being the same stinker she's been all along during our other ultrasounds. She was face down with her hands over her face/head AND she had her legs up over her head. The one thing that the ultrasound tech did conclude that she is still breech and has a full head of hair! She showed us the hair floating around her head. She also estimated her to weigh around 3.2 pounds. She's also been having the hiccups at least three times a day and moving around a lot. Just look at my belly and you can tell she's GROWING! =)
I hated to admit to the doctor that the bed rest along with the contraction medicine does help my contractions be less frequent, but I had to tell the truth. I just can't believe how incredibly tired and almost painful my body gets from doing normal day-to-day activities. I don't like feeling like such a wimp, but I realize this is just how my body is reacting to this pregnancy. It's still not easy for me to completely do nothing all day long. With Jim House Cop on patrol, I definitely don't over do it! In fact, even today, he was home working in his basement office and I got a message on my phone that said, "I can hear you walking around too much, sit down for a bit." I respect and appreciate his care and concern for me and his protectiveness for his daughter's sake as well. I want what's best for her as well.
