Since starting teaching in August, life has a been a whirlwind of busy school days, nights, and weekends. I don't think I've written anything or updated anything since I graduated other than a quick copy and paste about eHarmony. Jim's not much of a writer so it's up to me and well, I've just been either too busy or too tired.
I'm sure if you didn't already know, that you put the puzzle pieces together about our pregnancy news. We had put up some pictures of my parents finding out the news and a baby count down on here and then one day it was gone. We went in for our first ultrasound with such excitement only to leave with worry and stress that the pregnancy was not progressing as it should. A few days later, another doctor visit, and a few blood tests more concluded our sad news that the pregnancy was beginning to miscarry.
It's been a long month since that day. We chose not to get the surgery to remove the pregnancy (since I had post-surgery complications after my gallbladder removal), but instead to let it happen naturally with time and it's a lot longer process than I thought it would be. I honestly never thought that a month later we'd still be waiting for this to end. It's been emotionally and sometimes physically exhausting as well as painful. Only one person at my work knows that I have been dealing with this and that's my partner teacher. I felt it was necessary to tell her what's going on since I'm working closely with her for over forty hours a week and since I have to go to the doctor for weekly or bi-weekly check-ups and blood work until the miscarriage is completely resolved.
In the meantime, Jim and I continue to believe in God's perfect plan and we know that there was an ultimate purpose for this. It doesn't always take away from our sadness that we've felt from this experience, but it reminds us to continue to have faith in God and to have hope for a family. We know and believe it will happen; it's just a matter of time. We can't wait to be parents one day and look forward to the day when we can announce that we are pregnant again!
October is the month for Jim's birthday and our 2 year wedding anniversary so that's something for us to also look forward to in the next coming weeks.
