Another week of pregnancy has come and gone. My 20th week began with the beginning of my summer break from teaching. I can't believe that this week was the official half way point in my pregnancy; even though I won't technically go all the way until 40 weeks because I will have a scheduled C-section before that time, it's still incredible to think that it's gone by this fast already.
Our halfway point led us to begin thinking about registering for baby 'stuff' so Jim and I spent pretty much all afternoon Saturday registering for our baby at Target, Babies R Us, and Kohls. Here's the links to our registries if anyone is interested:

A very exciting part of the pregnancy so far was the 20 week anatomy scan. It's a full body scan to check for growth, development, organ function, measurements, and if the baby is a boy or a girl. Well, baby's growth and development was quoted as "perfect" by our ultrasound technician, organs functionally well, and measuring right on target; however, the baby's sex is still in question. Our little stinker was curled up in a pretzel we could have and wasn't going to move for anyone or anything. The ultrasound technician was pressing and poking my stomach with her wand for minutes at a time while I was eating candy by the mouthfuls.
The only thing that came of it was some wiggling feet, a yawn with a little tongue sticking out (that's when our tech said that we had a little 'stinker' on our hands), and a hand that moved to guess where...in between the legs. This baby was definitely giving us some entertainment! Even though the technician was having a tough time getting the baby to cooperate so she could identify if it was a boy or a girl, she was determined to at least give us a nice face picture. And after about 10 minutes of trying, she did so that was very exciting. I think it's kind of funny that after Jim and I have talked so much about not being sure if we want to find out if it's a boy or a girl or considering keeping it a secret, the baby decided to trump all of our thoughts and wishes. That's okay, though, because we walked out of the doctor's office knowing that our baby is healthy and progressing and that's all that mattered to us anyway.
In addition to the 20 week scan being exciting, another exciting moment happened this week. I was feeling a lot of internal baby movement the past two weeks, but this week I was able to feel movement both inside and outside of my stomach. That was very exciting and it kind of took me by surprise when it happened. Of course, the night it happened Jim was overnight on business but it's happened again since and he's been able to feel the movement.
Here's a 16 week picture and a 20 week picture wearing the same outfit for comparison. As you can see, I'm not as thrilled to be getting my picture anymore at 20 weeks as I was at 16 weeks.
