The "All day sickness", as I like to refer to it, (usually called morning sickness) is still making its appearance, but now more so in the afternoon/evening than from the moment I wake up until I fall asleep at night. Most days, for a few weeks there when I would wake up for work, I would just think, there's no way I can teach feeling like this! There were a couple days that I was close to laying my head down on my desk to cry from feeling so miserable, but I think those days are behind me. From what I've been told and read, I have just a couple more weeks of not feeling well and then the "all day sickness" will be behind me. The "all day sickness" is a healthy part of pregnancy so I have been doing my best to be accepting and embracing about it; it's a blessing, right? YES! =) Jim has been very comforting, supportive, and attentive to me. I'm so grateful to have his love and help during this time of not feeling myself. I still haven't told my students yet, but then again, we just made the formal announcement yesterday. I'm sure I will tell then soon or my growing stomach definitely will!
We're really looking forward to the weeks and months ahead of us while we get to watch our baby grow and we get to create a bedroom just for our little one. There's a lot to prepare for, but it's going to be a fun journey getting there. Even more of a blessing for me will be getting to have the summer off from teaching school to rest, relax, and enjoy the pregnancy. There's lots more to come from me. This is only just the beginning!
Today was our 13 week check-up. We didn't get an ultrasound of the baby today so no new pictures to see or share, but we got to hear the baby's heart beat on the doppler. It sounded perfect and the baby was moving. The nurse kept asking me, "Do you hear it moving? Can you feel it?" We scheduled our 17 week appointment while we were there, but that's all we get until then. It already seems so far away to wait until 17 weeks.
