President's Letter 2010

Dear Member

We are now approaching the Reunion 2011.The year of the Royal wedding & India’s win at Cricket World Cup.

It is significant to us also as ex medicos of the Shri MP Shah Medical College as we are also entering 56th year of the birth of our Medical College as the oldest student could be 75 years old+. Do you know any such colleague? I would like to invite him as our Guest of Honour at next reunion.

We had a great reunion this year at The RAMADA INN HOTEL, Kenilworth. Shri Anant Shah, Our Chief Guest & Patron said,” I feel the old Spirit of JDA has returned back as all having the best time here, the Music, food and the venue has brought back the old memories.”

Certainly the 80 of us who attended felt the same. One member said at the end,”here is my contribution for reunion2011. And please pay this as the deposit for the same venue as this has been the best reunion which I have enjoyed.” Hence I urge you all to join me yet again at next reunion to continue the legacy of our stalwarts like Batuk Kamdar, Nallu Vaghiajani and Ceejay.

We have tried and kept the JDA as simple as possible to meet & renew the old memories of our college days.

We have decided to keep the reunion to enjoy each others company rather than to go into politics or become a charitable institution. In other words to do the charity etc on individual basis but not through JDA. Secondly we will only have Vegetarian food at or reunions .Thirdly we will not collect for any cause at reunions. Lastly we will do this meets as cost effective as possible.

All in all this we did and hence all who attended enjoyed like in the olden days.

This year we are trying to do the same and hence I once again urge you to join us.

I recently visited our mother Institute the Great Shri M P Shah Medical College and have donated on behalf of JDA Rs 51000/- (£560 + Rs10996) to our Drug Bank which dispenses free medicines to the needy who attend our Hospital Shri Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Jamnagar.

We have donated the Journals (13 kg) given by yourselves and some 35 kg of old Medical Text books to our college Library.

Lastly this year we have launched our new website— http://www.jamnagardoctors.co.uk

Please visit this site and we would welcome your comments.

I would also like to request you all to kindly renew your new address/telephone / Family details to update our directory.

Please book the September 17th in your diaries for 2011 reunion. To meet & renew the brotherhood & friendship.

Brotherly Yours

Dr Tribhovan Jotangia
