President’s Letter April 2001

Giving is mans’ greatest virtue and Love is his supreme instinct – when combined the two make it sublime – giving with love.
When we met at the Sports Connexion for the JDA reunion, the spirit was sublime. Every one was in a mood to give.
First we prayed for the souls who lost their lives in the Gujarat Earthquake. We prayed for the survivors, their well-being and their future.
Some members gave eyewitness accounts and discussion followed about the mammoth task facing the people of Kutch.
We hope to make a small contribution and to this end those present generously contributed a sum of £4500.00 this amount together with the amount in the President’s Fund - £4500.00 makes a total of £9000.00. We have set ourselves a target of £15000.00. These amounts will unable JDA to make a reasonable contribution to the relief in Kutch.
Please I would like you to make contributions as soon as possible – cheques payable to “JDA Charity”
We have a committee, which will be in charge of recommending a worthy project.
Other matters which were resolved on that day:
Elections of the new office bearers and new executive committee.
- Our next reunion is on the weekend of 22nd, 23rd and 24th March in the Midlands.
- Our proposed visit to Jamnagar could take place in December 2000 – Jan 2001 OR December 2002 – January 2003. This depends on your choice.
- Members of the Executive Committee will ascertain your views by phoning you.
Rasikbhai Mehta had a quadruple cardiac by pass graft. He is recovering well. Our best wishes to him and his family.
Our reunion meeting was organised by Pravin Sadrani. Pratimaben Sadrani and Pravin Sadrani also arranged all refreshments. Our sincere thanks to them both.
Remember! Giving with love is supreme virtue and I look forward to receiving your generous donations.
