The Houston Employee Assessment and Review (HEAR) is the new way of doing employee evaluations. It is designed to set a clear expectation for employees and supervisors, establish goals, provide continual feedback, show employees how they contribute t o the city's overall performance and goals, and provide professional growth and opportunity. Supervisor training began in the fall of 2012. Employee evaluations done in April and May of 2013 will be the first ones using the new system.
