Greetings of the Season and every good wish for the New Year

December 2002

Dear Friends:

The happenings of the past year are quickly summarized: we are pretty much stuck in our Golden Cage. We DID manage to attend our grandson's Bar Mitzvah in February, and it was a very memorable occasion. Wonderful service, highlighted by a great speech by Evan, catered reception at Ralph and Margaret's home the night before, big party for the many guests at the hotel the following night; all went off without a hitch.

But this is about it for the year: we went up to N.VA. once more in June for Magdy's graduation from Elementary School, and that is the extent of our travels; The grandchildren each spent a few days with us in Richmond during the summer vacation and Eleanor visited for a week here in October.

Healthwise; Henry continues to do battle with Parkinson's Disease and is able to function quite well on the whole, the worst is that the "off" periods are totally unpredictable, making any kind of planning nearly impossible. Janine finally decided to undergo surgery on her-drooping eyelids, which impaired her vision and the result was very satisfactory.

I guess this is about all. We hope this message finds you and yours in reasonably good health and spirits and we are looking forward to hearing from you.

With our very best wishes for the holidays and the New Year
