It {"The Last Hurrah"] is based on the life of Mayor Curley of Boston, a very genial crook whose son [Francis X. Curley], by the way, is a priest and served for a short time as Catholic Chaplain in the hospital in Bad Canstatt where he used to entertain me with stories about his father.
