Letter No. 24 (undated)

[Handwritten]

Dear Heinz!

Since some time we are without any letter from you but when receiving your last asking for Nescocoa we have been glad to have anticipated your wish and have joined half-pound to the parcel sent [some] days ago. There must be four parcels all together on the way which I hope will be delivered to you in time. Sending Christmas parcels is not allowed after October 15th but when showing a letter from you expressing the wish to get sent this [] that we can let you have what you like. Certainly not in such degree as in the first weeks after [our] arrival in New York, we have visitors, but we are still in a lively intercourse with friends and relations. Tomorrow we shall go to see Luts and Greta Hamburger. Last night we met at Maschlers (we have mentioned Mr. Maschler in a previous letter as member of the [Ile] Committee) a Mr. Lippmann who told us that he has given your rowing instructions in the Ruder Club. Georg and Erna Levy[1] have left New York for Miami but consider to come back next spring. Irma told me that her son has written to you. He is still in England.

Yesterday Alice was here, she had only supper with us, she enjoyed jellied Mackerel I have cooked. Miss [Burys] who live in the same house is very often with us. I understand fully you are tired at most being four years in the war but I hope the end is near approaching and the Germans finished. We got very nice letters from all our friends in London, they all got over the air raids. Hoping to get very soon a letter, I am in love your mother.

In love, your father

Notes:

  1. Erna Levy was grandmother's first cousin.
