How do you stop annoying your non-cafe friends with your massive game posts? Yep. I'm gonna share my secret ;) For some of you this will be easy - for some -impossible - but here we go anyway!
On your news feed page on the left column, you have sections of facebook stuff. Mine sections are like this: Favorites, Apps, Groups, Friends, and interests. 5 sections. In my "Friends" sections i have about 8 lists - one of them is "cafe world buddies" - and i've been building this list for over 2 years - since I first started playing cafe world. if you don't have a list for just cafe friends - I'm going to tell you how to make one - and most importantly - explain how your posts will only be seen by those buddies.
Step 1: Make the friends list. If you put your mouse on the "Friends" section, the word "More" will pop up to the right of the word Friends. Click on "more" and your lists will open up. If you do not have a cafe world list, click "create list" at the upper right of the current screen. Call it whatever you want, ignore the box that says add friends, and click Create. A new page will open with your new list. In the middle will be "add friends" - click that and your friends list will open up. Here's the hard part - trying to figure out which friends you need to add lol. Click on the friend's name and a box will encircle them, and a checkmark will appear. When you have found as many as you can, click finish. (you can always go back through and edit again)
Step 2: Change your Cafe World settings. On your news feed page, mouse the "cafe world" bookmark, and when the pencil shows up to the left, click on it, choose edit settings. A new window will pop up. Scroll down to the section that says " Posts on your behalf. Who can see posts this app makes for you on your facebook timeline?" on the right side, click the down arrow, and choose the new list you made in step one above. If there is a save changes button, or anything like that click it. otherwise just click close.
Step 3: Test it! Go into cafe world and post something. um.. make coffee and post the "first cup" thingy - or post a test lab dish that needs comments - or post the spice thing that comes up on loading - anything - find something to post!! Now go to your wall - and look at your post. next to the post will be little gear, if you put your mouse on it, a down arrow appears, and a tiny line of text will pop up. Mine says "cafe world buddies". What does yours say? If it says public, then go back and repeat step 2.
Note, anyone who you missed will NOT see your cafe world posts - so make sure you go back through your friends list a couple times to get them all. And as you add a new friend - add them to the list immediately, so you don't forget!
