Facebook Invalid URL FIX

If you are trying to send requests and the little hourglass or little circle just spins and spins, and won't continue... or if you try to accept a wall post and get the "INVALID URL" error with a bunch of gibberish, MIGHT LOOK kinda like this:

Invalid URL

The requested URL "/current/iframe/accept_request.php?time=1361326289&from=6&gid=6460", is invalid.

Reference #9.14d154b8.1331747825.3a402cde

SO how do you fix it? After researching a ton I have found a fix for this.

First: Close your browsers - all of them.

click start, then in the search box type "cmd" without the quotes. hit enter.

An old fashioned DOS window will pop up, and will have a blinking cursor after something like c:\users\bob>_

where the underscore is the blinking cursor

Now, type "ipconfig /flushdns" without using quotes and where there is a space before the /.... then hit enter

something will flash and a message will say "windows IP configuration Successfully flushed DNS resolver cache"

IF IT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT REQUEST MUST BE ELEVATED, THEN YOU NEED TO LOG INTO THE COMPUTER AS ADMINISTRATOR

Did that work for you???

If not.. here's the long version.

If you get THIS trying to use a facebook game (i.e. cafe world, farmville, etc)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
then try this method! (this is showing how to do it in Windows 7)
First click on your start button, then in the search box at the bottom type CMD and hit enter key
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

NOW on the pop up window.. type ipconfig /all where there is a space between the g and the / then hit enter

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NOW scroll UP using the scroll bar until you find DNS SERVERS info. WRITE DOWN THE LAST TWO ROWS OF NUMBERS.
YOURS WILL BE DIFFERENT THAN THIS, DO NOT USE THESE, THEY ARE AN EXAMPLE
These are super important. you might wanna take a screen shot to be sure you got it right.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now on your bottom left, there is a monitor looking icon in the start bar. Click it, then click on network and sharing center

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, click on the connection you are using (its whatever is listed after Connections. click that link. Mine is local area.. yours might be wireless..etc.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

NOW click the word properties on the new pop up

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next you are gonna find Internet Protocol 4. Select it with your Mouse then hit Properties button.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Do this:

1. click the radio button next to "use the following dns server"

2. Enter the two numbers you found earlier in the ipconfig window under DNS server.

3. Double check the numbers, make sure they are correct!!!!!

4. Click the Validate Settings button.

5. Click OK

Once you click OK you might see some other pop ups. let everything do what it needs to.. then close all windows and browser. Now reopen your fav browser and try to open your game.

THIS worked for me! Hope it helps you!
