+++ How to find GIDs in Cafe World

Tired of waiting on me for GIDs? I'm not working fast enough for you? Here's how to find the GIDs yourself!

First, have a quest that needs a part. Ask or Post - either one. We will start with a post.

Step 1: Post the part by clicking the Post button.

Step 2: Go to your wall/timeline, and find the part you posted. Click the "help friend now " link

Step 3: Your window takes you to amelia telling you you cannot collect your own parts lol. Ignore her. What you want is in the address bar of that window.

Click on the address bar - it will usually highlight - then click again, and a cursor shows up. Hit the "end" button on your keyboard (or press and hold right scroll button, does same job)

Your cursor will finally make it to the end of that address... and there's a code near the end you are looking for. It's the last number on that address bar. See it? congratulations, you found a posting part GID #!!

NOW for asking parts. Its a bit more difficult - and directions for IE and FIREFOX will be different - see them below these Chrome instrucitons.

Step 1: Click the ASK button on a quest.

Step 2: It opens up a window you've seen a million times... But on that window you need to right click in the area below the names. I have it shown here...

Step 3: Once you right click - a pop up menu will appear. Click on "view frame source"

REMEMBER THIS ONE IS CHROME. FIREFOX AND IE LOOK DIFFERENT (see bottom of pics, someone sent them in)

Step 4. A NEW WINDOW will open that looks really scary and encoded like... Do NOT be intimidated. Just hit the CTRL and F keys to open the find box (it will appear on the upper right)

and type in the letters "gid" without quotes... and the FIND feature will automatically find those letters, and highlight them in orange. (1st pic is blurry because I made it smaller so you can see the find window - 2nd pic shows the GID highlighted and your gid #.) CONGRATULATIONS!!! You now know how to find an "ASK" GID. Woot!!!!

Here it is regular sized so you can see what CTRL F finds :)

Well that's how you do it! Now you can find GIDS and post them for your groups... Feel free to share them on the FB page as well :)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIREFOX AND IE ON THE VIEW FRAME SOURCE PIC: (THANKS SAMANTHA!!!)

FIREFOX

1. Right Click under "Nobody Selected" , a pop up menu will appear

2. Scroll down until you see "This Frame", it will have another arrow that drops down to another menu.

3. Click on "View Frame Source"

After that, everything is the same as the Chrome Directions.

3. Follow the Ctrl-F instructions for finding "gid"
