I recently discovered Easy Gadget which is a small computer program you can download from Bright House. If you have a Bright House home phone and Internet you can manage your services right from your home computer. One of the things I find most useful is call forwarding. We recently took a little vacation and I was able to transfer all of our home phone calls to our cell phone. That was very handy and anyone who called our home phone got our cell phone and they didn’t even know we were away. Anyway, I thought other home owners in Hawthorn Park might find this useful.
Below is a full list of the services provided by Easy Gadget as listed on the Bright House website. Easy Gadget is a computer program from Bright House Networks that enables you to monitor and manage your Home Phone activity with your computer. Easy Gadget is compatible with Macs and PCs and offers:
* Caller ID on PC, which provides a notification on your computer when you receive a phone call. This notification includes the Caller ID name and phone number, as well as uniquely assigned pictures and distinctive ring tones.
* Quick access to Voice Mail messages online.
* Call logs with a list of the 25 most recent incoming calls.
* The ability to delete calls on the list of 25 most recent incoming calls.
* The ability to monitor the phone line from multiple PCs simultaneously at home or away. For example, you could run Easy Gadget on a laptop while at a hotel to monitor calls coming in to your Home Phone.
* A Click-to-Call feature to initiate outgoing calls on your Home Phone directly from your computer.
* A Click-to-Text feature to send text messages from your computer to mobile phones.
* An address book to manage saved contacts.
* The ability to assign unique ringtones in Contacts to play with caller ID messages from a selection of more than 20 tones provided by Bright House Networks.
* The ability to assign pictures to each Contact from images stored on your computer.
* The ability to import and export saved contacts to and from Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo, Google, and other address books.
* Delete calls listed among your 25 most recent incoming calls.
* Send Caller ID text notifications of calls made to your Bright House Networks Home Phone to your mobile phone.
* Remotely forward calls from your Bright House Networks Home Phone to another number.
* Use an online directory to search for phone numbers by business category, business name, or person - or to search for information about the caller using a phone number with a reverse number lookup.
* Minimize Easy Gadget to the system tray only to reduce clutter on your desktop.
