New Board Members -- Congratulations to Len and Tyler. They are the newest members of the Board of Directors. Responsibilities of the Board members was refreshed for 2011, as follows:
Mike H - President
Tyler - Vice President
Ray - ARC (Architectural Review Committee)
Mike S - Treasurer
Frank - Grounds and Maintenance Director
Len - Secretary and Social Director
Sean - Director at Large
Financial Report -- $10,566 current year surplus, and $31,589 prior year surplus. There is $1,299 in past due homeowner assessments, which covers two properties. One is working down their balance and the other is being escalated by Property Management.
Social Calendar -- George Sinclair, Peg Mazza, Len and Marilyn Sirotzki constructed the 2011 calendar of events, which is now published on the unofficial Hawthorn Park web site. Upcoming events include a Garage Sale on March 5th and a Hawthorn Park Block Party on Sunday, May 22nd. George is investigating the Palma Sola Botanical Park for this event.
ARC -- Ray reported that ARC's have been received and approved for the extensive exterior and landscape work being done at the former Whitesel home.
Update on Robinson Farm Rezoning Proposal -- Katie Pierola provided a comprehensive background on this enduring saga. Katie, Len, and Greg Geraldson were deposed downtown January 26th for an upcoming administrative hearing on February 14th at 9:30 a.m. In order for concerned citizens to be better represented at this hearing, an attorney was hired. His name is Thomas Reese. His legal fees are expected to be covered by donations to a legal fund called SAM, Inc. (SAM = Save Anna Maria).
Please consider making a donation to this cause immediately. Please contact Katie. You may make checks out to SAM, Inc. and deliver them to Katie's house in Phase 1.
NW Baptist Church Donation -- Mike Sanstrom made a motion (which passed) to give a cash donation to NW Baptist Church to thank them for the multiple uses of their facilities for our meetings.
Future Meetings Pattern -- Although the Calendar of Events shows monthly Board meetings, the Board will be discussing the possibility to meeting less often.
