※かつてフランス語の勉強は１ヶ月で挫折しました。その後遺症で、フランス語圏にはなかなか踏み込めません。今更ながら、後悔しています。

▼オリヴィエ・マルタン著／塙浩訳『フランス法制史概説』（創文社、1986年） ： こちらも基本書です。
▼服部良久編訳『紛争のなかのヨーロッパ中世』（京都大学学術出版会、2006年） ： フランスに限らず、英独仏などの中世紛争研究の現状を知るためにお薦めの一冊です。
[南部] 西ゴート族やブルグンド族の部族法、とくにアラリック２世抄典のおかげで、12世紀に至るまでローマ法の伝統の下にありました。
[北部・東部]ローマ法を広範に押し退けたゲルマン・フランク族の諸法の影響下に置かれ、中世の法慣習が行われていました。それらの慣習は、何世紀にもわたって口頭の伝承に基づくものでした。
「聖王ルイの法令集」（13世紀末） ： 「各々にその取り分を与えよ」という和解の原則と、犯罪者の追求と処罰を表明しています。
The Trial of Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc) ： ジャンヌ・ダルク裁判記録（1431年）の英訳版。 彼女を火刑台に送った教会裁判の記録＜処刑裁判記録＞については、高山一彦『ジャンヌ・ダルク－歴史を生き続ける「聖女」－』（岩波新書、2005年）を参照してください。
「モンティル・レ・トゥールの王令」 ： 1454年、シャルル７世は、「司法の良き秩序」を樹立するためにフランス全土の国王代官に対してすべての慣習法の採録を義務付けました。
Jean Bodin（Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy） ： 主権論で有名なジャン・ボダン(1529/30-1596) に関する解説論文（英文）。
