Marx-Hubbard is well known for writing the book Conscious Evolution. She like Soleri draws a deep influence from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin who coined the term noosphere (denotes the "sphere of human thought"). So in my view we must deeply penerate the sphere of human thought that encircles the planet and seek to understand it in order to really understand ourselves and what is going on in the world so that we can best manage that process to ensure a secure and sustainable future for humanity and to ensure that that secure future does not come at the expense of the integrity of Gaia and the "EcoSphere".
