Leafy greens are also chock-full of vitamins and minerals while being low on calories. Kale and spinach are high in calcium, helping build the teeth’s enamel. High quality dairy products Milk, cheese, and yogurt are just some excellent sources of calcium, phosphates, as well as vitamin D – all helping protect and strengthen teeth. The probiotics or good bacteria in yogurt, too, can benefit your gums since they crowd out cavity-causing bacteria. Make sure to choose plain yogurt instead of a sugary variety, adds Dr. Kami Hoss.
