Diablo Weavers Guild

September 18, 2015

President Kris Peerand opened the meeting. The meeting was held at the home of Carol Causey.

Treasurer's report: no report, but Vilija estimates there is $2,400 in the checking account.

Diablo Weavers Guild is going to share the purchase of the projector purchased by Treadles To Threads Spinning Guild. Estimated cost is $300.

Hospitality Chair Joan Leon passed around the refreshment sign up sheet.

CNCH Liaison: Vilija Deutschman reported on the 2016 Conference. The theme

is Field To Fiber, and will take place April 8 - 10, 2016, in Modesto. The class list

has been published on the website. Three, six, and nine hour workshops will be

offered, and participants may take up to 9 hours. Sign ups begin early January

Vilija also passed out Diablo Weavers Guild business cards we can give to interested people we meet.

As there is no Program Chair, Kris read the list of scheduled and proposed meetings for the year.

Kris & Joan Leon may do a program on weaving software in April or May. Other

meetings may be filled in with weaving dvd's.

Carol Causey handed out flyers for 2 workshops with Jennifer Moore. These

workshops are sponsored by Mother Lode Spinners & Weavers in Sonora. There

is a 2 day workshop on "Double weave - beyond the basics" and a 1 day

workshop. These will take place in November 2015.

Sharon Gardner announced a conference put on by Strands, a group from the

U.K. The conference is on narrow wares - kumihimo, inkles bands, etc. It will be

held in Tacoma, Washington, July 24 - 30, 2016. The price is $800, but this

includes room and 3 meals a day.

After the break, Summer sharing, and Show and Tell was held.
