Technical Details for the Wall Exhibit

Message from John Rothkopf

I have confirmed that hanging of the Gallery Rail Exhibition will start at 10:00, Wednesday, January 6. I could use two volunteers to assist.

The following outlines how decisions will be made on which photographs will be displayed and in what order.

  • The opening exhibition each season will consist of the Best of Show and first place winners of the previous Art Expo. If there are too many photographs in that category to be exhibited all a once a decision on which ones to hang will be made by lottery.
  • The second exhibition will consist of any first place winners that were not displayed Once all firstlace winners have been displayed Club members will be invited to submit their photographs for exhibition. Again, a lottery will determine selection if too many requests are received.
  • The final exhibition of the season will remain on display until a new set of photographs can be exhibited the following autumn.

The ideal sizes of the photographs, including the mat and frame, shall range from 8"X10" (minimum) to 16"X 20" (maximum).

  • The photographs submitted shall be framed and equipped with a wire for hanging.
  • Frames shall be simple.
  • The cost of framing shall be the responsibility of the exhibitor.

On the back of each photograph, the photographer will include the following information:

  • The name of the photographer
  • Contact information (telephone or email)
  • Title of the photograph

The Display:

The Project Manager will prepare a display card for each photograph with:

  • The photographer’s name
  • The title of the photograph
  • The prize, if any, awarded to the photograph; e.g. First place, Nature, Intermediate

We recognize that security is an issue. All contestants exhibit at their own risk. The Cameral Club is not responsible for damage or loss of any photographs.
