Minutes of the Century Camera Club General Meeting, Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018

The meeting was called to order at 1:15 PM by the President, Lise DesRosiers.

1. Election of Officers

A slate of proposed candidates for the administration of the club was presented by Sol Goldstein.

They are as follows:

President: Lise DesRosiers

Vice President Sol Goldstein

Treasurers Michael Epstein

Harvey Betsalel

Secretary Joel Rosen

It was proposed that the slate be acclaimed unanimously by Alan Mendelsshon and seconded by Patty Bender.

2. New Business

1. Year End Luncheon

It was proposed by Lise that the year end luncheon, held on the Tuesday following the Art Show, be replaced by post-mortem of the that show and the season. Sol suggested that we can show some of the pictures that were displayed for critique etc. Photos could be left in the cupboard in our room after the show so they do not have to be transported back and forth. There was general agreement that this is what should happen, rather than a luncheon. Raphael Chemtov suggested that snacks could be served during that meeting.

2. Treasurer’s report

Michael reported that effective January 31, 2018, the Camera Club had $1282.63 in its bank account and 47 paying members. He added that the TD bank charges $8.00 per month to maintain the account. A discussion ensued whether it would be possible to change to a bank that has no service charges provided that a certain balance be maintained. This is to be explored.

One of the recurring expenses is the payment to the Art Club for $250.00. This includes a $100.00 scholarship to the local Deerfield Beach High School for their arts program. Patty proposed that this be increased. It was felt that seeing as our donation goes to fund art students and not necessarily for photography students, the amount we donate should not be increased. A further discussion will take place at later meeting.

There being no further business, the annual general meeting was adjourned at 2:45 and the regular meeting of the Club began. Moved by Patty Bender and seconded by Michael Epstein.

Respectfully submitted

Joel Rosen

Secretary, Century Camera Club
