The entire reunion experience is taking place at the Rigmor House. Please go to their site and take a tour so you know what to expect. There will be an attended registration station each day.

Question: How do I get there? I need directions to the Rigmor.

Answer: Click here for directions

Question: What happens at the Registration Station?

Answer: Each day we will register or check in. When we first register we will receive our ID, T-shirt if we have one coming, mugs for donor classmates. After the initial registration each we will simply be checking in and whatever surprises the organizers have in store.

Question: Do I need a ticket? How do I know/prove I am registered?

Answer: There are no tickets. Those classmates that are registered are on a guest list. You will receive an ID on site. That is the proof of registration.

Question: How can I tell if I am registered?

Answer: CLICK HERE AND CHECK.

  • If you do not appear to be registered and think you should be, contact Barbara Keller Beverley or Paula Wright Pressley.

  • If you are not sure, contact Barbara Keller Beverley or Paula Wright Pressley.

  • If you have any issues at all about registration, contact Barbara Keller Beverley or Paula Wright Pressley

Question: Who do I contact if I run into an issue before I arrive or when I am off-site?

Answer #1: Through May 24th:

  • If it is about registrations, contact Paula or Barbara.

  • If it is about T-shirts contact Barbara.

  • If it is about Bios email Esau.

  • If it is something else contact Gail Darden Burcfield or Barbara Keller Beverley and they will point you in the right direction.

Answer #2: During the reunion weekend we will have a phone number where you can reach a reunion representative on-site.

Ruth Bodenheimer, Harold, Sanford, Mac, Terry, Penn, Staceman, Rob, Steven (Selim) Silverleaf, Earl Bynum, Julia Bon Council Smith

Question: Where and how do I park?

Answer: We will be directed to parking on the Rigmor grounds.

  • The Rigmor main entrance on NC HWY 54 will be well marked by large white flags and gold and black balloons.

  • All traffic will enter the Rigmor main entrance and will be routed in a circular pattern.

  • Please go where "Staceman"'s minions or signs direct you so we can fit as many cars as possible onto the grounds.

  • If possible please carpool as parking is limited. Some of us will find it convenient to park at Carrboro Plaza and ride in with classmates.

  • Upon check in you will receive a parking pass that should be displayed in the windshield of your car.

Question: What should I wear?

Answer: There is no dress code per se. Dress casual on Friday. On Saturday dress comfortable as you would for any picnic and remember sun glasses, hat, sun screen, bug spray, etc. Saturday for the big show, dress comfortable to casual. I'm sure some of us will still be dressed the same as we were that morning, only a little riper.

Question: Will I be able to change clothes at the Rigmor?

Answer: There will be places to change clothes.

Question: Will there be alcohol?

Answer: Yes, there will be an open bar.

  • Please drink responsibly.

  • Have a designated driver. The last thing any of us want is a weekend marred by an accident or a classmate getting a DUI.

Question: Will I be able to buy T-shirts or other mementos?

Answer: There will be a limited number of reunion coffee mugs and T-shirts for sale on site at reasonable prices. We can no longer order T-shirts online.

Tale of a Pig & Some Chickens

John Scott has come up big. He has donated the meat for Saturday's festivities along with donating his time and the personnel to prepare it and clean up.

John Galt says, "At least the pig and the chickens have a schedule."

Fellow CHHS and Guy B. Phillips Brothers and Sisters,

As far as my little contribution to the festivities timing and logistics is everything to providing fresh quality picnic food. Thus, I think Julia is correct that I do need to stay at the Rigmore house that Friday night. Here is my itinerary for my part. Please contact me for comments, recommendations or complements.

Friday May 25th:

  • 12 noon I will bring my equipment and product to the Rigmore house.

  • I will prep the chicken wash it and make sure it is iced down.

  • 10 pm I will put the pork on the pig cooker.

  • Midnight I will bed down and check the pork throughout the night as it cooks.

Saturday May 26th:

  • At 6 am I will chop and season the pork. Take the pork off the cooker and store it in hot boxes saving the carcass skin.

  • At 8 am I will introduce the chicken to the grill and cook till done at 9 am. I will pan and season the chicken.

  • I will put the chicken in hot boxes.

  • At 10 am I will then put the pork back on the cooker inside the pigs skin and re-season.

  • I will place the chicken around the pig on the grill.

  • At 11:30 I am ready to serve.

  • At 3 pm I will clean and exit only to return later that night to a standing ovation and a guest appearance on the Kenny Mann Show.
