Donald Richard Kistler

A shining light born into the world on June 15, 1954; in Durham, NC to David and Myra Mae Kistler. Fought the battle with Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome the last years of his life The light went out on May 20, 2003.

From Dave Kistler:

He was not known as Don, it was Donald.

He was my brother.

Donald had a huge heart. He was giving and loving.

He especially had an impact upon my daughter, Lindi.

He was very artistic. My grandmother took him to meet a famous woman in Chapel Hill,

whose name I cannot recall. She was known as the inventor of finger painting.

Donald had done some finger painting and Bama took him and his artwork to meet her.

She told Bama that he ranked a 4 out of 5 in finger painting.

He was a special guy, who died too young.

From Betsi Terrell Devine:

Donald was one of the funniest and nicest guys you could ever know!

He, Betsy Taylor, and I were great friends from middle school on.

He even gave me a baby shower when I was pregnant with my first daughter.

I will always miss him.
