Born on May 25, 1954 in Lincolnton, NC to Roy & Margaret (Allen) Mitchell Jr. Shep passed away in The Big Apple on September 10, 1986 after battling Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
From Jake Raybin-Sommers:
Shep lived in the big white house across the street from me on Willow Dr.
We became good friends in 10th grade and the one thing I can tell you about Shep is that he had a good heart.
If you were his friend, he ALWAYS had your back and would stand by your side.
So sad that he is gone.
From Dave Kistler:
Shep was good friends with my brother, Donald.
Donald was there when Shep died.
I remember one time we decided to take a trip to White Lake @ about midnight.
Me, Donald, Shep and my other brother, Billy.
I had a convertible Volkswagen at the time that burned oil constantly.
There was a gas station across from the old Holiday Inn back then.
We pulled up to the pump so I could fill up. Back in those days, there was an oil stand by the pumps.
Knowing that my car burned oil, while I was filling the tank, Shep reached over and took two quarts of oil.
He was a wild guy. Not that is a bad thing.
His mom was the teacher from Hell.
