From Martha Cansler:
A really good friend of mine from school was Beth Martin who lived on Tenney Circle. Beth died in a horrific fire in Atlanta about 1973. I saw her mother when I was in Chapel HIll about a month ago and we just sat there and sobbed like it was yesterday.
From René Sparrow:
Beth was my 2nd grade friend and we stayed buddies thru high school.
Beth was witty, intelligent and ahead of her time with her views to accept all, as I recall her.
We always had fun running around her house and Mrs. Martin was always very kind.
Beth had a great laugh and in high school she would stay at my house on Wednesday (not sure why that day)
and we would drink Boones Farm Strawberry Hill (don't ask me where we got it) apparently my Mother didn't notice....
They played "Bridge over Troubled Water" at her funeral I remember and I was so sad I couldn't even speak to Mrs. Martin....
Beth would have achieved great success as an adult because she was a very special person....
