Born on on June 30, 1954; in Plymouth, NC to Mr. & Mrs. to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Parisher Jr. R.I.P. November 21, 1986.
From Robin Maddry:
Kenny and I were married in 1974 and had 12 wonderful years together before cancer took his life in 1986.
We had two beautiful daughters. Emily, 34, is the natural resource biologist for the Piedmont region of the NC State Parks system. Sarah, 29, is a 4th grade elementary teacher and works closely with children with Autism who are mainstreamed into her classroom. Kenny was an incredibly loving, fun, attentive, devoted dad to his two little girls.
He was a great cook and enjoyed the art of cooking and creating his own culinary masterpieces.
A huge UNC fan, he loved attending Carolina games and cheering on the Tarheels, sometimes even sporting a UNC ball cap with ram horns, which always made us laugh.
A real outdoorsman, he enjoyed the beach, swimming and fishing, water skiing, hikes along the mountain trails of the Blue Ridge Parkway, bike riding, tennis, church league softball and most anything having to do with outdoor recreation.
Kenny had the most easygoing personality of anyone I have ever known. He loved people, never met a stranger and had such a great sense of humor that he maintained throughout his illness. No matter how sick he became, he was always able to make everyone around him laugh. Forever the optimist with a positive outlook, he was truly an example of courage in the face of adversity and fought a valiant fight until the very end.
He was the most devoted and loving husband, my best friend. He is deeply missed.
From Goose Waters:
Agreed. A VERY VERY nice guy.
Always in great spirits. Shared a few classes and always had fun.
