December 10 Chapter Meeting Cancelled / Arctic Freeze Info and registration ASAP

Post date: Dec 8, 2017 2:00:13 AM

Hello Brothers,

I wanted to let you all know that I have to cancel our Chapter Meeting that was scheduled for December 10 because I also have duties on the Lodge Level and they scheduled a meeting on December 10 that I have to attend. There were too many conflicts to meet on the 17th so I will meet separately with our new Chapter Officers during the break so that we are set to go at our January Chapter Meeting which will be held during our Arctic Freeze weekend.

Talking about the Arctic Freeze, attached to this email is the registration form. Please fill out the form to let us know if you are coming or not. This gives us a headcount for food, so if you want to eat good, let us know if you are going!

Speaking of food, Troop 5 Adults have it covered. Thank you guys!

Some more information about the Arctic Freeze is below. Please support your Chapter and come join us for a fun service weekend!

Ca-Nu-Pa's Arctic Freeze will be held on January 13-14, 2018 at Rocky Bottom Camp for the Blind. It's about an hour away and we have the Osterneck Cabin reserved. It can sleep 30+ people, has multiple bathrooms, a large kitchen, and multiple large open areas.

Plan to arrive at camp by 10 am on the 13th and we need to be cleaned up and leaving by 10 am on the 14th. We will be cooking Saturday Lunch, Dinner, and Sunday Breakfast.

The cost per person will be $20. That will cover the the food and the charge for the facilities.

Our service project is something we're getting pretty good at... trail work. I walked down the trail when we visited the camp, and it definitely needs some work. If you guys bring some tools, that would help (items like clippers and handsaws would probably be best).

We may also be holding a Flag Retirement Ceremony. I am still getting some information on that.

I have 1 Chapter sweatshirt (2XL-$25) and a limited number of Chapter T-shirts for sale ($10) and extra 2016 and 2017 Arctic Freeze Patches ($3) so bring some extra cash if you want to buy anything. Mr. Van Cason has some Chapter epaulets you can purchase ($10). Mr. Johnny Ray Smith has been working with me on the 2018 Arctic Freeze patch and we thank him for that.

Pictures of the Camp and the Cabin are on the Website for you to look at. We will be sending out another email in early January with the final details about the weekend and what you will need to bring as well as the permission slip.

Thank you,

Thomas Roznowski
