Camp Buc Retreat - Bad Weather Plan

Post date: Feb 5, 2010 4:12:24 AM

Hey Camp Buc Arctic Freeze Campers,

We’re still trying to go. Scouts at tonight’s District Meeting really said they want to try to get to Camp Buc Friday night if weather and roads allow it. We will report back when we know details on road conditions by cell phone. If you know you’re NOT going (or changing your arrival times), e-mail back or leave a message on my Dad’s cell on 940-1381. It will help make BBQ adjustments before we buy it. We spoke with Reps from T-5, T-20, T-84, T-97, and T-215 tonight.

Friday.

· Here’s the plan. Camp Buc Ranger Tim Huitt, Ranger will call my Dad by noon on Friday to report on the road conditions into Camp Buc.

· Noon: Leaving at Noon: Van Cason (Assoc Chapter Advisor) and Jimmy Green leaving from Honea Path to go to Camp Buc. They will report back to Jim Culwell on Road conditions. Mr. Van’s Cell Phone is 940-9180.

· 1:00pm Mr. Roger’s pick-up BBQ and leaving from Greenville with BBQ smoker.

· 1:30-2:00pm My Dad and I will be leaving Anderson around and will advise on Road Conditions. My Dad’s cell is 940-1381. Mr. Wilton Brown and Derrick leaving from Belton about same time. We are the four planned Rock Face Campers and maybe with Will Martin(?) from T-20.

· 3:45pm to 5:00pm, Mr Magaha – and Wil Magha leaving for Camp Buc

· 4:30pm – 5pm. Mr. Gautsch, William, John and Thomas Bucks (T-84) will be leaving Anderson. Mr. Tommy Howell, Luke and Jamie are leaving about the same time from Honea Path.

· Mr. Danny Moore will wait to hear back from me and my dad to advise him on Road Conditions. Bringing David, Thomas, Richie, and Stephen from T-215 in Anderson.

· If roads are too bad, drive up Saturday morning. Worse case scenario, is we change location to White Pines Cabin at COI or a location in Anderson (Maybe Troop 215’s Scout Hut on Saturday??)

· We’ll know more Friday morning and as the Friday day develops.

Saturday

· Mr. Darrell (Chapter Advisor cell 933-5285) and Mr Johnny Ray are arriving on Saturday Morning.

We still have strong Headcount (Best case) Friday = 29-30 (0 to 5 on rock face?), Saturday =34

· T-5 = 9; Friday = 5, Saturday = 9

· T-20 = 1 to 2; Friday= 1 to2, Saturday = 1

· T-94 = Friday = 0, Saturday = 1 Day Trip

· T-97 = 12; Friday = 12, Saturday = 12 (Rock Face crew will give it a try if not messy rain)

· T-84 = 1; Friday =1, Saturday = 1 (new add!)

· T-215 = 4; Friday = 4, Saturday = 4

· Sahkanga Chapter = 4. Friday=4, Saturday=4, Michael and James Stokes, Jimmy Stepp, Ted Dreibodt

· Tandy Leather = 2. Friday=2, (leaving late on Saturday)
