Welcome Letter for 2014 - 2015 School Year

Dear Parents and Students,
The teachers of Team Parker would like to welcome all our parents and students back for another fantastic year here at Peachtree Charter Middle School. This year we look forward to preparing our students for the new Milestone norm referenced test that will be administered in the spring in the place of last year’s CRCT. We have prepared many challenging lessons to ready the students to master not only this new assessment, but also the Common Core standards for the areas of math, language arts, social studies, and science.
Team Parker is one of the few teams in the building that send a daily homework email to our parents and students in order to encourage open communication and awareness of what transpires in the core classes on a daily basis. If you ever have a question or concern just reply to the daily homework email and we will answer you in a timely manner. The homework email was an extremely effective tool for last year’s students and parents and we are very pleased to utilize it again this year along with our new team twitter and instagram. Please be sure to give a reliable email for our list and we assure you that information will only be used for the purpose of keeping you up to date on core classes’ homework and important team related information.
In addition to the homework email, each teacher on Team Parker holds two morning tutorial sessions each week to provide extra assistance and guidance to struggling students. All teachers keep an updated website for students and parents to use as an extra resource for all classes. We encourage everyone to take advantage of our unique team features to enhance students’ experiences here on Team Parker.
Our fearless team leader is our talented science teacher, Jasmine Parker. She is dedicated to creating successful methods to improve our team communication and maximize instruction. We would also like to welcome Ms. Perry to our team, as well as Peachtree, as our new social studies teacher. We hope to make this year full of cherished memories and exciting challenges for our students. Don’t forget to attend our Peachtree Open House on August 28th from 6:45-8:30pm so we can meet you and answer any questions.
